For years, people have been attending the San Diego Mardi Gras street festival and this year’s event looks to be better than ever. Event coordinators have put together an event like never before.
You will see street performers everywhere, from stilt walkers to beautifully dressed showgirls marching down the streets of the Gaslamp Quarters. Anywhere you go, you can see some type of entertainment or just listen to the music. There will be live performances by the Pussycat Dolls and break dancers will bring their own high energy stunts to the streets.
There will be five stages where local, national and international performers will appear. Just watch as the Chris Rubio production team of street drummers turn ordinary objects into musical instruments. Wander the streets in order to see as many of these great performers as you can before making your way to the parade route.
The Gaslamp Quarter Mardi Gras parade will begin at 9:00 PM and will make its way from 5th Avenue and E Street all the way to 5th Avenue and K Street. There will be many beautiful floats included along with musical groups, performers and of course the Grand Marshall.
There are many dining options available throughout the streets. Once you’ve received your wristband, you can choose from one of the many participating restaurants and bars for special discounted prices.
