Super Bowl XLIX is being played on February 1, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona. The NFL holds a big party and there are a number of exclusive private parties throughout the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. In Scottsdale, about 30 minutes from the site of Super Bowl XLIX, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs are all planning to have special themed events and celebrations revolving around the big game.

If you choose, you can also partake in the specially created wine pairings. You’ll get a chance to meet and greet NFL players from every NFL team as they man the 32 restaurant stations. This year’s culinary host will be Andrew Zimmern of Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. Actress Alyssa Milano has been chosen as the celebrity spokesperson. To top off the night, a nationally-featured musical act, yet to be announced (past performers have included Sarah Evans, Martina McBride and many more), will entertain and there will be a silent auction where you can bid on rare sports memorabilia, jewelry, vacations and other goodies).

The affair is open to the public and serves a dual purpose. It gets everyone in a good mood for game day and the proceeds go to help fight hunger in the local community as well as in the 32 NFL cities around the country. Tickets are not cheap at $700 for an individual or $9,000 for a VIP table that seats 10 guests. Dress is formal (suits and cocktail dresses) and attendees are encouraged to snap photos and share them on social media. If you can afford it, this is a top event that benefits an important cause.

Many of the restaurants in Scottsdale are doing themed-parties for the Super Bowl Macayo’s Kitchen at 11107 N. Scottsdale Road is making up some fantastic Mexican platters filled with all of your favorites. If you want a great steak in a great atmosphere, you can’t go wrong by making a reservation at Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse at 6691 East Camelback Road. Want to let your hair down and down a few beers? Try the Rusty Spur Saloon at 7245 East Main Street in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. Finally, dress to impress and head over to the hottest nightclub in town.
